This is a diaper cake Mom made for the centerpiece. It turned out really cute. It has an elephant coin bank on top, hair bows on the side as decoration, and a special rattle just for Daddy Paul (it is a guitar).
This wonderful woman was a friend of my grandmothers and also the woman who helped deliver me. Apparently, Mom's doctor was running late so Betty was the one who caught me.
The onesie decoration Mom made for the mantle, along with all the gifts.
The beautiful cake they had made. Kelly wanted to recreate the elephant from my bedding in pink. They had to try several bakeries before they found someone who could do it. I think it turned out great!

Sonogram Appointment
I had a doctor's appointment on March 12th, with a sonogram scheduled. I really like the tech that does them. He is very friendly and doesn't seem to mind us asking questions. Everything looked fine and right on target, although he estimates due date a few days earlier. Woo, hoo! I know, I know, it's just a guess, but I can hope, right? I didn't actually get to see the doctor. She came in at the end of the sono and said she had to leave for a delivery. I have probably seen her at least 20 times since the first time and she has never had to do that. I think that's pretty amazing. I told her no problem, to go ahead, because I fully expect her to leave some other woman sitting on the table when I go into labor!
Wrangler Toys
I don't remember if I have mentioned it before, but I put a basket in the nursery for some dog toys for Wrangler. He will follow me in the room and go straight for the basket, pulling out 2 or 3 to play with while I am in there, reading, sorting or whatever. I have been on the look out for pink and green toys at Petsmart, Target, and Dollar Tree. As you can see, there are quite a few out there. My latest find is the pink car. Take a look at the writing on it. As you may recall my little friend Hope named the baby Mini after we found out it was a girl. How perfect is that toy?!?
Baby Shower
My sister hosted a shower for me here at the house (with the help of Mom). It was a wonderful time. Thanks to all who came, I hope you enjoyed as much as I did. It really feels like the time is getting close. Here are just a few pictures, I'll post more once I get them from Mom and the other camera. The pillow and blanket set were quilted by my Aunt Sadie in Missouri. These will make great nap time things when Sophie goes to preschool with me next year. The bear was embroidered by my mom's friend Julie. It says Sophie Rose. It is so adorable. I love all the clothes people gave us. There is definitely pink for Dad Paul's little princess!

What do you think?
I'm not sure if this is going to work. The links below are froma website that morphs 2 pictures to show you what your baby would look like.

Baby Classes
Our childcare classes have started at the hospital. We have 3 weeks of Prepared Childbirth, plus a Baby Basics class, Infant Safety, and Breastfeeding class. At the Baby Basics class, Paul changed his first diaper (it was a doll, but still). He figured I probably knew everything, but with my job I don't deal with infants, my kids are at least 12 months old. I remember when I bathed my nephew when he was just weeks old. It was a little scary because he was so small. Paul did a great job at the class, I was very proud.
We have been to one Prepared Childbirth Class. It was very interesting. There are about 7 couples, and every one of us moms wants the epidural. The nurse teaching the class said that was the first time she'd seen that. We saw a video about the stages of labor. I definitely think Paul is going to handle this birthing stuff better than me. I am fully expecting to freak out. I will be that woman who decides she doesn't want to have a baby and to "just take me home!"

Thanks Grandma!
My mom volunteered at the Fort Worth Just Between Friends consignment sale. For those unfamiliar with this event...it happens twice a year at several locations in the area and it's huge! If you volunteer, you can earn passes to get in early and that's what Mom did. I was supposed to work too, but I couldn't go to the early sale. Anyway, Mom came away with a full laundry basket of clothes (no pics because they are getting washed). She also got several crib, playyard, and cradle sheets. There was 4 swimsuits, 8 pairs of shoes, and lots of pink clothes! She also found a shopping cart cover thing and this tummy play activity toy. But the best find was the purple rocking elephant. I think Sophie may be outgrowing her room!
Room Update
Here are some pictures of the room. Mom made the curtains. We saw these pink crushed velvet panels at Target, but apparently they were discontinued. Mom found this great fabric that has an embossed star pattern. She also added the pink tulle to the top of the canopy. You can't see the detail, but she attached it with diaper pins. She also made the ribbon "wind chime" that is hanging in the middle.
This book case/display is from Pottery Barn. We had a credit leftover from when we bought the furniture. I love, love, love it! Eventually, there will be a child's table and chair set under the bookcase and the cradle will go to the master bedroom. I also pulled out some of my elephants from my collection. There are a few on the bookcase.
