Birthday Party at Chuck E. Cheese

Sophie's cousin Maya had her birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese. Sophie loved all the excitement. She had fun playing as well as eating. Paul gave her food from the salad bar (and I had brought stuff too).

She loves to slide. I think she needs one here at home, maybe she'll get one for her birthday.

Swim Lessons

I signed Sophie up for swim lessons at the city rec center. She loves the water and I want her to be comfortable in it when we go to the lake and stuff. It is a parent and baby class that Paul does with her and they have a blast!

Floating on her back.

Jumping off to Daddy!

Sophie's Prayer Partner

We decided to take a quick trip out to see one of our favorite people, Rosemary. This wonderful woman helped me through a very difficult time before Sophie came along. I started meeting with her when we were going through our first round of fertility treatments. She has been praying for our child for years (whether that was a birth child or adopted child). She moved out of the area shortly after Sophie was born. We had a great visit with her and Sophie loved riding around with her in the scooter.

Lemons or Lemonade

What do you get when you give Sophie a lemon?

The cutest sour face ever!

Cowtown

We took Sophie to the Stockyards for a parade and to see the animals. We had fun getting out as a family. I will be so glad when Paul's work schedule slows down and we can do more things as a family.

Here is Sophie petting the pony.

They had a petting zoo with sheep, goats, bunnies, and chickens. I don't think Sophie knew what to make of the animals.

We watched the parade (which was pretty small and not very impressive).

Playing With Her Food: Squash

Sophie loves to feed herself! She'll still eat baby food that I feed her, but she loves when I just put food on her tray. Usually I just give her finger foods, but on this particular day I put a spoonful of squash on the tray and let her go at it (bath time was in our near future).

I have tried to upload a video of her eating the squash but no luck so far. If I get it on here our do an update.

MIC Meal

Sophie and I met Paul for lunch for our monthly MIC Meal. We went to Pei Wei. Sophie enjoyed her fried rice!

Playtime at the Mall

We stayed after Stroller Strides on Thursday and played at the kids area. We were meeting Paul for lunch so there wasn't time to go all the way home and then to Paul's work. Sophie enjoys just crawling around and pulling up on all the stuff. She also loves to follow the other kiddos, she can be so nosy. She loves the slide. I think she may need one of those for her birthday.

Fake Mashed Potatoes

I thought Sophie was a girl after my own heart. I had some leftover mashed potatoes from KFC, and not to burst anyone's bubble, but they aren't the real deal. I gave some to Sophie and this was the face she made.

Now this made me happy because I too hate fake potatoes. (Just ask my mom. She tried to pass off a box of Idaho Spuds as the real deal and I knew something was up. Of course, I was polite enough just to ask if she had done something different when she made them. I found the box later and she never gave me the fake stuff again.)

Of course, Sophie changed her mind when I put them on her tray and let her feed herself.

Please note the hair. Even at 10 months Sophie knows the benefit of good "product"!

I've recently started putting food on her tray and letting her play with it (but only at dinner when bath is the next item on her schedule). She really enjoys exploring the food and I love that messy little face!

Stay and Play at the Mall

After our Stroller Strides class we stayed and played in the kids area of the mall. Sophie loved this because basically she got to crawl wherever she wanted. They have a tunnel that she finally decided to go through (I think she was following Isabella's lead). And she love, love, loves the slide!

Sophie's First Heels

Ms. Gail gave me these shoes before Sophie was born. I've put them on her a couple of times, but kept forgetting to get pictures. Now the problem is that she doesn't stay off her feet very long. She crawls just to find someplace to pull up on.

I think she is thinking, "How the heck am I supposed to stand on those!!!"
