Good Morning Texas

Good Morning Texas was doing a special story about Gladney's 125 year anniversary.  Gladney wanted families to be involved so they had a train and clowns come out to the studio.  I took the day off from work and Maw Susan and I took the kids to Dallas.  They had a blast!

We saw the clown drive up with her hot pink hair.  I tried to tell Sophie that it was the clown, but she insisted that it wasn't, that she was just a girl.

They had the train ride during the interview portion.  The train actually stopped right behind them while they talked, so Logan and I spent most of the interview on camera, in the background.

We also got to meet a TV star from a Disney show.  She was very nice and gracious with the kids.  Here a group shot with all who were there.

Easter 2012

The kids and I went to visit my parents in East Texas for part of the holiday weekend but were back home in time for the Easter Bunny to leave a few surprises.

We had lunch with the Walkers.  These lovely ladies even wore their Easter bonnets.

Bill and Cheri did a great job with lunch.  The kids loved decorating their own cupcakes.  After a brief rain delay, it was time to hunt eggs.  Check out that haul.

A Day in the Life (without pictures)

I didn't start the day planning to do this post so I didn't really take pictures, but we've done so much that I decided to document it. So here's the play-by-play:
6:30am Up, shower, and dressed
7am Got the kids up, dressed, breakfast, and ready to go
8am Took Logan George to new preschool, then off to work, with a stop at Starbucks for frappacinno and chocolate milk
9ish dropped Sophie with childcare worker and did payroll in my office
10ish quick trip to Babies R Us for diapers and wipes
11am picked up Logan George at school, got there early so wrote his names on his eggs for their party on Thursday
11:30 lunch then down for naps
12ish ME time, laundry, fed Kirby, dishes, couple of other chores while watching a Tivo'd show
1:30 (all at the same time) sirens start going off, Logan's knocking at his door, I'm going to wake him for speech
At this time I switched to live TV and determined the sirens are "just a test". I get Sophie up and put Logan and Sophie in the guest bathtub with pillow pets and blankets. Get Wrangler, phones, and drinks for everyone. Decide to get a game too. We ended up spending 2 and a half hours in the bathroom. We played Disney Yahtzee, colored in the coloring books, read some stories, had car races up the tub walls, and ate snacks. I'd come out periodically to check the warnings and stuff (spotty reception with the phone in the bathroom). Finally, lifted the warnings at 4pm.
4pm ordered Chipwrecked for the kids to watch
5pm started dinner, ate and cleaned up
6pm kids played with the all the Easter activities I put out for them while I did more laundry (working on the last of 3 loads) and got on the computer
We"ll start bedtime routine early at 7pm, with bath for Sophie and shower for Logan. After evening chore, teeth, stories, and "amens", off to bed for them. I'll probably do a couple more things around the house, including getting stuff ready for preschool tomorrow. Then hopefully relax with some mindless TV before bed.
