Spring Art Projects

We did a lot of art projects this spring.  Here's some of them:
Lily flowers made from their handprints.
  •  Easel painting after bath time.

  •  Girls Day Out at the ceramics place with Aunt Kelly and Cousin Kalyn.

  •  Windsocks with the kids handprints stamped on them.

  •  Salt paintings

Stamping pictures.

Crayola Magic finger paints and paper.
  •  Painting using plastic eggs.

  •  Mosaic Easter Crosses

  •  Foil drawings, including tracing their feet.

  •  Sophie Rose's nature airplane made from items she found on our walks to and from Logan's school.

Decorating a paper table cloth before dinner.

Dragon Boat Festival

We were able to go to the Dragon Boat Festival again this year.  We missed the lion dances but the kids decorated sun visors, had their faces painted, and  jumped in the bouncy house.  We had some lunch then decided to try our hand at kite flying (another big aspect of the festival).  Logan and Sophie worked hard to keep the kite in the air.  It wasn't too hot so we really enjoyed the day.

Logan's First Field Day

Logan's field day had to be rescheduled because it was too cold and wet , and we were afraid this one was also going to get rescheduled.  But the weather was fine and the field wasn't too muddy.  He did 4 events (one of them twice due to a problem in the execution) and had a blast.  His first event was the 3-legged race with his friend Edwardo and they got FIRST place.  The smile on Logan's face was awesome!

I decided to let Sophie go with me to watch and she did pretty good.  She really wanted to hang out with Logan and the boys (which will probably drive both her brother and her daddy nuts when she's older).  She and I both got a little pink from the sun but we all had fun!

Happy Birthday, Sophie Rose

Just some pictures from her party days and the actual birthday.  We let her open a gift before we went to the rock climbing gym and she loved the Doc McStuffins book and Sofia video.

Of course after her party we had to have dinner at Joe's Crab Shack.  Here is the birthday girl with her favorite mommy, aunt, and cousin (at least at this time).

I took the leftover cupcakes to the preschool for her to share with her class.  She had also picked out Olivia plates and goody bags that we stuffed with art stuff (crayons, notepads, tape, pens).
On her actual birthday, we went to the bouncey place then had an early dinner at Olive Garden.  After dropping the boys at home I took her to get her very first "real" manicure.  We would have done toes too but they were really busy and I wasn't sure how well she'd do.  I did her toes at home the next day and she remembered all the steps, including soaking in water (which she insisted she do) and also the lotion.

Little flowers on her thumbs.
She had a great birthday celebration and is looking forward to the next party with her cousins.
