Happy Birthday Sophie Rose

We had a joint birthday party for Sophie Rose and Kalyn at the gymnastics gym.  They had such a good time and so did us parents.
The food and cake table, with the party favors underneath.  The girls got batons and the boys got jump ropes.

The staff at the gym was wonderful, they even kept the gift list for us.

The kids did warm-ups then activities at the different events.  There was games, races and time to just play.

Happy Birthday to Our Own Curious Geroge

Logan George picked out a Curious George book at the book store, saying it was his favorite, on the same day the science museum sent me an email announcing their newest exhibit...Curious George.  At the time I had just started thinking about his birthday party so it was really kind of FATE.  I contacted the museum and we scheduled his party for the weekend of Thanksgiving.  He had so much fun and the museum staff did a great job.

Curious George stopped by to take some pictures.

The Party Hostess did a story time complete with props.

We had pizza, chips, bananas, juice and, of course, cupcakes!

After the food, we were able to explore the museum.

The kids stayed in the Dino Dig forever.  They didn't want to leave.  The weather was great and the museum wasn't too crowded.

I hope he had as much fun as it looks like he did!

Happy Birthday, Sophie Rose

Just some pictures from her party days and the actual birthday.  We let her open a gift before we went to the rock climbing gym and she loved the Doc McStuffins book and Sofia video.

Of course after her party we had to have dinner at Joe's Crab Shack.  Here is the birthday girl with her favorite mommy, aunt, and cousin (at least at this time).

I took the leftover cupcakes to the preschool for her to share with her class.  She had also picked out Olivia plates and goody bags that we stuffed with art stuff (crayons, notepads, tape, pens).
On her actual birthday, we went to the bouncey place then had an early dinner at Olive Garden.  After dropping the boys at home I took her to get her very first "real" manicure.  We would have done toes too but they were really busy and I wasn't sure how well she'd do.  I did her toes at home the next day and she remembered all the steps, including soaking in water (which she insisted she do) and also the lotion.

Little flowers on her thumbs.
She had a great birthday celebration and is looking forward to the next party with her cousins.

Sophie's Birthday Celebration Part 2: Cake and Gifts

Another LONG post.

After we climbed for a bit, we went to the party room for cake and to open the gifts.

I really prefer not to open gifts all at once, but we needed a break and the kids seemed okay with it.  I had gotten just plain cupcakes with purple icing.  I found chocolate candy that looked like rocks that we used to decorate the tops of the cupcakes.  Because it was an afternoon party, we just had drinks, fruit snacks, chips and the cupcakes.

After everyone had a chance to eat, we opened presents.

Sophie loves opening presents no matter what it is (clothes, something she's never seen before, duplicates of stuff she already has).  She gets so excited, but this photo shows how she feels best.  Just look at that joy.  She was saying to me, "Momma, we saw that movie, it's the brave girl."  And, yes, we did see the movie (or at least half of it) last summer.  But she has never mentioned it since, and yet she was thrilled to get the Merida doll.

Once Sophie decided she was done climbing, this is how she spent the rest of her party...hanging with her brother, cousins, and friend.

Some random shots from the day.  I was very fortunate to have my friend Keri agree to be the official photographer for the day.

Getting her birthday spankings.
Sophie had a great day and I hope everyone else did too!
